Thread regarding Cisco Systems Inc. layoffs

Layoffs are unlikely to end

We might get a break here and there, but we are now at the point of no return. Layoffs will never fully stop. They have become synonymous with the Cisco way. It is just who we are now, sadly.

We might get a break here and there, but we are now at the point of no return.

You were at the point of no return when an acolyte of "Neutron" Jack Welch became CEO of Cisco in 1995. All it took was a downfall from $82 on its way to $8 and it's been frequent layoffs from 2001 on. Don't forget the rank-and-yank and wage freezes along the way.

Layoffs have been common in the US for decades and as even the top valued tech companies hit a wall they're laying off too. This means should Cisco get bought, whatever could afford to buy it will likely continue with layoffs.

Take a look at every major corporation in America. All are transitioning fast to automation, machines, programs, people are no longer needed. Look how many company’s are merging, selling off part or whole segments. Jobs are changing and we have to keep up

Why would layoffs ever end? Just replace full-time jobs with contractors

Save on healthcare, 401k, pto, and severance
