I agree , all the cisco fellows , PE's , distinguished engineers ( all highly paid ) missed the Cloud boat , Zoom boat , so many emerging technologies. either they missed or did not push chambers to go in that direction .
not questioning his contributions( 400 + ) patents but for his paygrade he should have guided chambers to next level technologies so cisco can stay relevant in the market.
you can bash JP all you want and some of it might be true, but losing someone with that many years of networking experience will hurt.
name one meaningful networking protocol JP was even marginally involved in creating. The answer is none. You are buying the same hype he sold NVidia on. He’s created nothing useful in 25 yrs at Cisco. facts matter
He was LR'd for being old and now he will double dip for a year of salary and make a truck load of cash on his Nvidia stock and bonuses
Losing him does NOT HURT. He was laid off (finally) for a resson
you can bash JP all you want and some of it might be true, but losing someone with that many years of networking experience will hurt. Especially, since we now have "leaders" who have never configured a router or switch.
JP is a venerable presence in AI and networking space and just about Cisco’s last real expert out of the door. I speak as someone who actually worked with JP.
bwahahahahaha. Name one product that was created clown 🤡 boy. I avoided him for years for a reason and actually built useful networking products.
Lol - he built nothing useful at all. You do realize this, righ?
lol, this is a net loss for nvda. guy made a career out of patenting useless ideas... not sure what they saw in him.
Best scenario for Cisco is to stay with their core offerings: push for AI and ML will require more bandwidth and demand on latency. They keep doing what they do best: network plumbing with R&S while the likes of NVIDIA make the real money by meeting the actual workload demand. In the best possible scenario, Cisco will remain a vassal state, a conduit for the big players. Their stock will not rise in the long term, best scenario is stay stagnant within the +/- 5% range. Realistic scenario - if they don't change leadership drastically to a technically focussed honest ELT from the clown show that presides now - is Nortel: Hastalavista bebe
Clueless Chuck thought Nvidia was a partner while they picked his pocket and now will they will put Cisco in the networking grave yard next to Nortel and the rest of the losers
Fran and Chuck high five each other when a long term technical genius exits so they can grab his non-vested stock so Chuck can get even richer while Cisco circles the drain
@cqg+1uOPFawd Is a typical nasty troll common on this site. JP is a venerable presence in AI and networking space and just about Cisco’s last real expert out of the door. I speak as someone who actually worked with JP.
LOL JP is the worst. I'm glad we sent that anchor to someone else.
