Looks like UPs disregarding their own made up discipline policy lately. First strike and your OUT. Signals been getting hit hard this past month. Follow EVERY rule no matter what. Even if it takes all day or goes in alert status!

Our managers are being told, find criticals or else
Funny how they expect us to be on call every second of the day, every night, every weekend, every holiday. But yet question you and make you feel guilty for making over time. And make you feel guilty if you check out. Love when they threaten to make signal park their work trucks at their headquarters. And don't forget the stand by pay we should get, it's in the agreement. But employees HAVE to follow the agreement, but the company don't. It's a Loose Loose battle.
The upper chumps of the signal dept are prob pretty jumpy right now hoping nothing else happens especially from now till the end of year. 2 sig trucks have been totaled by trains on top of all the other incidents. Managers will gladly break policy and over discipline now to try and scare all the rest of the sig employees to have no further incidents. They’ll happily deal w/ union hearings and back pay later on if they can scare everyone and get the accident numbers to go down now. Never mind being understaffed, never mind worn out trucks breaking down over and over again, never mind sig employees have too much to do and not being given enough time to get half of it done.
Management will smile, joke with you, act friendly, but when the time comes the hammer drops, and they watch you go down, that's when their true identity comes out. Our leadership is in this for themselves. No back bone, the workers are on their own sadly.
I’m sure out hard working unions are fighting this as we speak. You know, instead of campaigning?
