Thread regarding Baker Hughes layoffs

Am I crazy

Have you ever seen a CEO run a business for 7 yrs where the stock price has never been higher than the day it went public? Does the BoD even pay attention? He has fired everyone on his staff, some more than once. Maybe it is the CEO

While I'm admittedly not a huge fan of the CEO, I do believe he has a long term plan. Whether or not that involves current employees or going a completely different direction, is yet to be seen.

After 5 years, a CEO’s influence is deeply embedded into the organization’s culture and operations, and surrounding themselves with yes-men can be dangerous. Firing and rehiring staff repeatedly is a clear sign that something’s off.

As for Baker Hughes, I agree that the next two years will be critical, especially with the pressure on EBITDA. Cutting experienced staff in favor of younger, lower-cost talent may boost short-term margins, but it could definitely hurt top-line growth, especially in 2025. With OFSE underperforming relative to its peers and divestment talks resurfacing, the company is facing serious challenges. It’ll be interesting to see how they balance these decisions moving forward, but the road ahead is definitely tough.

Hi Maria “Cash Money” here, you sound like all of our other investors who demand “line must go up,” and we tried laying off a huge chunk of the highly paid staff but apparently that kind of demoralized everyone else. Anywho, Lorenzo has a long term plan to not miss the energy transition which means “line stay flat until go up later.” Stay tuned for the next 15 years.

The CEO and BoD of his previous employer did that for 15 years. He still has some ways to go.

The board and Lorenzo only care about their DIE and ESG scorecard.
