I left and I’m making way more.
The pay is good relative to the amount of work.
You can make more money outside of Exxon, but you’d actually have to work for it, and a lot of you seem to have issues with that.
@1pip+1uJ1JtV6 What is your degree in? Hard to tell you where you can make more without that type of information. Are you an MBA and can go private equity or investment banking or consulting? Or are you a geologist that needs to stay at an oil&gas company?
Where specifically can I get paid more? Chevron? Shell?
Not really. The pay is middle of the pack. You can make more or less money outside. ExxonMobil ain't special anymore.
why overpaying? I work my a-s off 5+ days per week 10+ hours per day. If you normalize for the hours, it is pretty even if not below average. As for the other comment, rather objective, I am sure there is worst and better
No @ckj+1uJ1JtV6 , I'm staying for as long as I can just to increase the "above the surface costs" for Kathy. I will make Exxon spend as much money as possible and even pay extra for things we don't need just to reduce profits as much as I can.
All my friends that have left are earning more. It’s great pay for HiPos, mediocre for others. At least for undergrad Controllers.
Exactly.
If you don’t like it, leave
It really isn't over paying. It's much lower than other companies
Chevron pays like 6 more an hour.
Pretty much
