Thread regarding PepsiCo Inc. (Pepsi) layoffs

Burning Furniture

First wave of VRP will likely be exited in November, with no backfills until Jan 2025. Extreme cost cutting across all functions and that includes a hold on ramping up for a large 2025 customer conversion. Hang on to your seats, those may be burned with the rest of the furniture next.

Subway will be sc--wed up. Leaders are out of touch with the amount of time and how much our process has degraded. They will continue to cruelly push people that have little resources.

It’s Subway! They were not prepared for what it would take to convert all the subway accounts. Think about it. They are having to track down all kinds of paperwork from these franchises. Setting up a national account takes for freaking ever…Plus the equipment still has to be switched over. SOURCING EQUIPMENT takes FOREVER. Then you have to manage the entire project from set up, onboarding and first fill…

Yeah… they need help but they will just “streamline” with their BOTS and oversees “partners”
Good luck with that sh!t… the way things are set up is not sustainable and it’s only gonna get worse.

Let's get real. There's only so long you can burn the furniture before it's gone and you start burning things essential for the house structurally. We're burning 2x4/2x6's at an alarming rate. Can you feel the house shaking?

Subway will go thru. They are adding to Food Service as it’s more profitable cases. They will cut in S&D to help pay for the addition headcount. I believe they are waiting on some of our customer acquisitions Circle K taking over 7-11 is huge how many Kam’s do we have calling on them? Also the Kroger merger will be huge to us and that may happen this year.

This isn’t just end of quarter. Take a look at what the analysts are reporting.

Haha fair enough seasoned vet. I’m too anxious to start retirement. I’m sad it came to an end like this. I wanted to go off on a better note. I’m sure Ram and Ramon have a plan in place. My heart will always bleed Pepsi blue and I had to laugh when my equipment counterparts told me their staffing was delayed. I’m been in food service so it’s been a good career.

Take it easy, Alex Jones. This is end of quarter 101. All companies have to adjust due to headwinds and outlook. Pepsi isn’t going anywhere. Good luck on your retirement, stay off the news.

By the way - I am so glad I took the VRP. When I heard this and the hold on staffing up for 2025 I had to laugh. Best of luck! 34 year vet signing off!
