Thread regarding National General Insurance (GMAC) layoffs

It’s coming- read the signs Allstate will shake up NGIC

Can’t believe nothing on this page. Talk to encompass, safe auto, esurence people. They’ve seen all this before. When it started, got moved to “rebadged” to Allstate HR, timekeeping, all benefits, IT support, lots other stuff and their upper mgmt given Allstate title/job. See? Weirdly silent on changes at town halls then and now. Reorg or rif or both? Transformative growth means change to grow - profits. Doesn’t seem to be working. Allstate layoff page expects it to come in October. Be sure you have an updated resume!

Massive changes coming to NGIC. Transformation into Allstate will be done by end of the year. Many processes will be implemented. The way you do claims will be totally different. Hang on for the ride.

Do not believe what you heard in the quickly called property meeting today. Major changes coming to property at Nat Gen with them being fully integrated into Allstate as of March. They are looking at reduction of staff and many process changes. Not sure how they can say what they have with a straight face.

After the last quarterly, I left the company. Hiring Mike Fiato, after what he did to Liberty, means they are looking to have a reduction in staffing and expense.

The only thing Transformative Growth is transforming is the workforce - focus is lowering expenses which is done by firing people. Some will be outsourced, some will be replaced with AI, and some will just be absorbed into other roles. Nat Gen might be able to avoid it with continued profitable growth, but the second that turns, watch out.
