I think history will remember this event as a cautionary tale (be careful who you temporarily put in charge), but for now other studio division heads are likely foaming at the mouth, imagining the power they, too, could consolidate with mass layoffs and restructuring under their own fiefdoms like the pep boys did here.
In times of economic uncertainty, people get nasty. For those left at Paramount, they'll be in a kn--e fight for their jobs for the next few years.
