Thread regarding Cisco Systems Inc. layoffs

Would I get LRd after medical leave?

I am on medical leave started in July last week and I recently learned my whole team starting from directors to our left-right all the teams are LRd. Do you think HR will let me know on first day of joining that i am also LRd? Or would I be safe?

Dear Director, if this is you, you deserve to be fired w/o severance. We all know what you did to jump the sinking ship just to try to save yourself and only yourself. Good riddance.

What others say is true. If you are on leave, you will not get notice until your first day back. If your entire gteam got notice, it is very likely you will too.

There is a small silver lining. More job reqs may open up during the delay so your odds of finding a new job at Cisco increase, especially if you are under 40.

No they only “paused” your LR. As soon as you get back they will expeditiously work to get you out in a matter of 5 days.

I know someone in February that just started their LOA and as soon as they returned, the new mgr gave them the LR notification. Not the news you wanted to hear, but it is possible.

Honestly your best/official answer will come from HR.

BUT - I BELIEVE your notification period will start immediately upon your return.

They can’t legally fire you while on medical leave. Expect the meeting on the 1st/2nd day back.
