Frankly, I don’t even know how to feel about it. I was almost hoping to be let go, yet I’m glad I’m staying for now because the job market is cr-p. Talk of the week is that the recession is not coming and the job market is expected to recover next year. Even if that’s the case, I’m not so sure that it will apply to tech jobs. With all the offshoring and AI, my hopes are not getting up.

If recession does not occur it will be the first time interest rate inversion + .5 % rise in unemployment signals are wrong.
I'm in the same boat as you. Manager told me I was on the list, but they decided that we are understaffed currently so that's why I stayed. If they announce a new layoff in February or maybe even earlier, I'm most probably gone.
