Thread regarding Xerox Corp. layoffs

We Deserve Better

For the last two years, I’ve been dealing with relentless stress due to this company's frequent layoffs and outsourcing. The most frustrating part? HR isn’t even part of the company anymore—it’s handled by a third party that seems just as disconnected from the human side of things as the decision-makers themselves.

It’s hard to describe what it feels like to come to work every day, not knowing if you’ll have a job tomorrow while watching skilled, dedicated people get pushed out without a second thought. There’s no real communication, no empathy. It’s all about cost-cutting and outsourcing as if we’re just numbers on a balance sheet. The toll this takes on your mental and physical health is real—I've even found myself physically ill from the stress.

I’m constantly applying for jobs, but even that’s draining. After years of uncertainty and constant restructuring, the company has stripped me of my skills and confidence. What’s left? Anxiety and the feeling that everything you’ve worked for can be taken away at any moment.

I know I’m not alone in this feeling. How did we get here? How do we allow this kind of treatment to go unchecked? It’s as if the idea of treating people with respect and dignity has been wholly lost in pursuing profits.

gutted to read this, as i was in your boots not long ago. keep applying and just focus more energy into the next job than your current job. performance won't save you anymore so just accept that. I did find somewhere better and safer, and i'm very glad i didn't give up. it's all stressful, but keep your chin up. their mismanagement of the whole company isn't your fault, but unfortunately if you don't look out for yourself, no one will. honestly who thinks xerox will exist in 2030?

Xerox is a faceless, soulless machine that sells redundancy as reinvention. What are they reinventing? The process of hiding mass layoffs as rebadging so they can artificially increase this quarters profits and drive the share price up.

The trouble is, people are wise to it now. Xerox sell themselves as a technological powerhouse, with diversity and values at their core, when in reality the core is rotten. They don't care about the few good people they have left and they are willing to spend limitless resources to process eliminating these people for short term perceived profit, even if in the medium to long term it causes massive losses in money and opportunity.

Do yourself a favour and avoid them like the plague.

I just show up, do what I can until 5 and leave. Don't look back. No one is looking out for you, why are you giving this company any of your worries? We're all getting fired eventually, just enjoy the ride

Wegmans buys Xerox, now it will flourish and grow with good management.

Funny, isnt it, that legacy employees kept things going without a hitch? I'd say most of not all the legacy employees I knew were learned about transfer of info. If the sky is falling now, we'll, chances are the remaining personnel need to look into the mirror.

Because every CEO after David Kearns su-ked. UB was so lost the company was weakened to the point it was easy to take over. Ichan made the mistake of insufficient due diligence and was shocked to find out there was no hidden value here. He put in his goons with orders to at least get the cash back. Everyone smart left. Everyone smart but expensive remaining was let go. New people are sub par but there is now a tradition of blaming legacy employees for everything. This is the result. Wegmans does 2x revenue and ours continues to decline. Stop whining and find a job. Its not going to change.
