I have been here for 4 years, 1.5 was contractor. Throughout my time I have had anxiety every day about getting laid off.
Can someone please let me/us know what areas will be RIFd at Voyix? More specifically what account and roles?
The waiting game is so difficult and the job market is hard. I’ve been applying without an offer for a year now.
I really wanted to make this company my career home and yet my logical mind sees the painting on the wall.
100% agree. People with 15+ experience in the same company… will for sure have a harder time. It is scary and i am hopeing that the nightmare tomorrow is just a rumor.
Getting another job isn't easy or fast - especially for those with longer tenure and more experience. There aren't a lot of openings and the job search process can be demoralizing. It's reasonable for people to worry about losing their livelihoods.
After recent round of Atleos layoffs, the techs lost (veterans with many years in) have not been discussed since. No one cares if they are alive/dead or how many weekends and family events were missed in their years of employment.
This is a paycheck, the young folks are 100% correct in treating it as such. While it’s nice to think you are an important cog in the machine…..you are not even a spec of dust. Old school mentality is not translating to today’s work environment/culture.

And I bet I am older than most of the other posters. I don't care to be "laid off" - if it comes, it comes. I will continue to work till the last day in the same manner as I do everyday, taking responsibility and improving my work all the time., it is comfortable to work in NCR, I like what I am doing, sort of boss to myself. Getting focused on "oh noooo I was here 25 years what I am going to do no" brings you nothing. What will happen if you're fired? You will get another job, that what will happen.
So get focused on what you control, and not someone else.
Devoting your life to a company where you don’t even own a share is diabolical. The younger generation is realizing there’s more to life than just working a 9-5. Celebrating 50 years as a slave to NCR is not an achievement. Once you’re gone, the company won’t care. No one is putting up your memorial praising you for giving up your creativity to make NCR billions for 50 years. A simple thank you and good bye. Always prioritize yourself and your well-being first!
Last reply is how things have changed, the new hires treat jobs like flushing a toilet, the long term people worked for NCR for 20-30-40 or even 50 years and have given their lives to NCR through good times and bad times. The lack of respect really su-ks, the old guys deserve respect, young employees can be very disrespectful. I was the young guy at one point, the skills and ethics that I learned from my elders made me better. The young people today should be better, some are, but most are not.
It’s just a job, not your whole life! If you get laid off, take it as a sign that it wasn’t meant for you. I’m not going to let a job stress me out or affect my health anymore. As you can see we’re all just a number

Sorta agree with poster getting the negative 👎🏻. Worrying is a waste of time. Take action. Apply elsewhere, learn, network. Worry, envy, jealousy, blah blah all a waste of energy
The previous poster sounds like they’re outsourced cheap labor, justifying their actions.
Why does it matter? Layoffs is not something you can control, it happens if and when it happens. Or not. Or maybe.
What the knowledge of you being laid off will do to you?
I'd suggest to focus on the problems like what is missing in your field knowledge to get an offer in another company, instead of being frustrated in the company. Take courses and practice more, if you want to find a better place for you. Being frustrated does not advance you to any place. learning and implementing the knowledge - does.
