"The company has no obligation to provide severance at all"

But the fact is many if not most jobs of this type do offer severance. There might not be a law that enforces it, but it's a typical practice by many companies.

Huh? The posting was stating a fact and said nothing about company generosity lol. The fact is companies offer severance so they don’t look bad not because they are generous.

The company has no obligation to do a lot of things . Don't make it sound like the company is generous & doing anyone a favor when laying them off. Company has no obligation to offer free P+ and other benefits . Stop with the company generosity rhetoric. The company offers what it does to be competitive & attract employees .
