It would appear foolish to spin off CBG when it is basically a consumer level clearing house for existing 3M technologies.
This post ki-ls me… so because CBG is utilizing technologies from other 3M businesses and selling directing to consumers.. that su-k, they add no value!? You cannot be 3Mers posting such cr-p!? It all contributes to the same company, posts such as these make me question the intelligence of my fellow 3Mers.

Yep, the best manufacturing executive 3M has ever had - Tamera Fenske went to KC - 3M passed her over to hire Peter Gibbons - Another stellar talent decision by the old guard who rule 3M. Change the way you think about talent before you lose more critical and highly talented people to companies who know how to poach the best.
Didn't one of the few excellent executives from 3M go to KC?
Would be funny if she got to take over CBG and fix what was broke by others.
CBS owns no technology. Their operations is purely leaching on other divisions.
Has CBG created any new products in the past two decades?
The patents can be licensed. Spin-off or sale a strong possibility 2025
I don't think CBG will be sold off just yet.
Everything they sell is just a commercialization of some patented things in another BG.
In order to enable a sale of the entire BG, 3M would have to give up those patents, too, and I can't see that happening yet.
During the flurry of new releases and PR for the Healthcare spin off several analysts mentioned that CBG was the next candidate for spin off/sale from 3M. An analyst from JP Morgan mentioned the poor performance and lackluster sales results for CBG. P&G as well as Kimberly Clark were mentioned as possibilities. It has been a bit over 4 months with the new CEO but many coworkers I know are just silently waiting for some form of big changes in CBG. It is just a matter of time.
