employees leaving should never sign any exit document - ever. Don't contract away your rights as you are booted from the company.

The reason for this NDA is that this is a double digit layoff for the United States. It is huge and deeply significant. Proportionally, it is at least 15% of the US.

Wallstreet never met a layoff it didn't like - but IBM's narrative is that it is laying people off because of our amazing AI when the reality is that our tech is a complete joke (AskIBM is just useless trash with no vision). At best, it aspires to mediocrity. IBM wants to maintain this fascade as long as it can, so senior leadership and Arvind can cash out like the robber barons they are.

It is important to keep this quiet because it is just another mass outsourcing move to India, the last recourse of companies that lack a viable vision for growth. Sure your quality has dropped like a stone and you lack all innovation - but it's so cheap! That is the truth of IBM but it is not the narrative they want to put forth.

It's time to claw back IBM's federal contracts and local governement incentives. Arvind has just declared on the IBM's employees in the United States; this is a US company in name only.

I people are getting the NDA thing wrong. It is not the person being laid off that is being asked to sign it, it is their manager.

The term “mass layoff” means a reduction in force which first, is not the result of a plant closing, and second, results in an employment loss at the single site of employment during any 30-day period for:
(i) At least 33 percent of the active employees, excluding part-time employees, and
(ii) At least 50 employees, excluding part-time employees.
Where 500 or more employees (excluding part-time employees) are affected, the 33% requirement does not apply, and notice is required if the other criteria are met. Plant closings involve employment loss which results from the shutdown of one or more distinct units within a single site or the entire site. A mass layoff involves employment loss, regardless of whether one or more units are shut down at the site.

They have to report all layoffs over 50 people being laid-off at any sight over 500 employees to the State. This is the WARN notice, else they have to pay extra severance to employees if they don't follow the law. Journalists should report it to the state.

I work with sales and a few teams and close to to people in the know. We are aware of a single person being laid off.

Where are you getting your information from?
