US Commercial Sales Restructuring Coming - Consolidation and SE Pooling

More LRs coming to US Commercial which will result in 2 big changes coming to US Commercial in 2H and FY26.

Consolidation of Operations and Regions. There are underperforming Operations with ODs and SSEMs that are nothing more than number managers. There is at least 1 Operation consolidation coming. There are regions that are irrelevant and their goal is a fraction of typical regions. Those regions and their leaders will be consolidated. When the number 1 region was a glorified SMB region that is very telling. Forget the name of the region but our AVP said they did not have a big boy goal and should not even be a Select region. Ultimately, Area reconfiguration will be needed also.

SE Pooling is on its way. The cost of engineering is too much in today’s environment. This cost has to be reduced and the only way is pooling. SEDs, Operation SSEMs and Region SEMs have tried to make SEs mini-AMs and most are not capable.

Does TC know that the CCA AVP wants to defund Tech Days and other events cause his sellers can’t enter opportunities from Tech Days into SFDC. Time to LR the CCA AVP if he is unable to lead basic sales leadership.

As someone that supports both CEA and CCA, both of these AVPs are not capable of leading. They do not inspire their teams. Their teams have no respect for them. The CEA SED is a piece of work too. All 3 are examples of why Cisco is on the decline. No real leadership.

Hopefully our CCA AVP is let go when the restructuring happens. He provides no value when he comes into town. A lot of wasted cycles to appease him as no one wants to take him to customers. I have to beg my AMs to setup meetings. He is nothing more than a used car salesman, a bad one at that.

The newly promoted long time a-kisser COMMERCIAL EAST VP is trying to build an empire with a bunch of his buddies which will result in even more customers migrating off Cisco

I think there is a lot of trimming and consolidating they could do in the SSEM, SEM roles. I know some SSEM only have a few reports meaning less than 5.

In second half of FY in February. The SP vertical will get re-organized into GES to align to Gary’s vision. There will be redundancy in management, ops, and sellers. SEs will remain dedicated to their accounts.

Only half correct. SEs are not being pooled. Read into GS's "Back to the Basics" - getting the SE back to being a trusted advisor position with our customers. Going to take a lot of effort to get there and going to result in a lot of SE leadership and AM leadership getting "streamlined" in the re-org. No reason an OD/SSEM can't have 6-8 regions under them. Would actual help the regions.....no reason an aVP/SED can't have 5-6 operations reporting to them.

You’re sort of on the right track but not really. Commercial is going full virtual (what real companies call inside sales). SEs are cheap, but commercial customers are so low end they don’t need good SEs.

I heard an in person town hall with TC and he said he wanted to consolidate USC into 23 regions down from 40... This was a while ago but i think this has been the plan the whole time
