Thread regarding Xerox Corp. layoffs

All Xerox Direct analyst gone to HCL

On 9/18 all remaining Xerox analyst were notified that they are being rebadged to HCL. They are receiving offer letter from HCL between now and the 22nd and have until the 26th to except it or not. We know what has happened in the past to those that have been rebadged, most will be gone in six month after onboard with HCL.

As former HCL employee that ended up dealing with many rebadging issues, I would highly recommend that you take a close look of your rebadging offer of employment from HCL and be familiar with it. Xerox has changed the severance program since 2019, and significantly reduced the severance payout. Additionally, in the HCL letter there’s a stipulation that after 3 years with HCL you will be moved to HCL severance policy, well HCL doesn’t have any severance policy, so in case you get laid off after 3 years of employment you can only count on the 2 weeks notice as your severance package. Also, the benefits package that Xerox chose for its former employees that were transferred to HCL is garbage. Too expensive healthcare options and too few. We had much better options being direct HCL hires.

Good thing I heard about it here, because nobody decided to tell the field techs. Explains why the emails go unanswered. What a show.

What have most North American Consultants/Analysts decided to do?

What was in the offer letter that HCL sent out?

Is there any patterns to who was selected? So far it seems like its people who weren't dedicated to an account but I'm not sure.

I heard that HCL makes more money and has better benefits than Xerox. I'm not sure if that is true or not.

horrible communications to the field about the change, no explanation about why this took place and none of the analysts seemed to have a clue about the rebadging.

Having been through this with different once top tier companies, once you start outsourcing you can start seeing the death toll of a company coming. Outsourcing leads to customer dissatisfaction, quality issues, delivery issues. The basic but most notorious & prominent driver of customers never considering your product or service again is outsourced call centers to 3rd world countries. I wish CEOs, BODs had never read the book “The world is flat”. You may be reducing overhead, labor, etc. increasing your bottom line, but is it really worth the end of a company?

For the person that asked. If you don't accept the agreement they said it is you quitting.

During covid HCL cut everyone's hours to 28 but you weren't allowed to tell any clients this so any client who was billed based on headcount actually overpaid Xerox during that time.

HCL also doesn't pay every two weeks like we do in the US. They pay weirdly throughout the month. I think on Wednesdays.

There is no better training at HCL, nothing is better except maybe pay if you can confirm that its actually higher unless things have changed.

Some of the people who go to HCL may end up back at Xerox if they don't quit and if HCL can't learn their job ...OR... if the job needs someone in the US to do the job

Xerox also doesn't disclose that they're using a 3rd party nor that they have sent people to HCL. If the HCL manager doesn't align with the Xerox manager, Xerox then has an issue on the account and can't do anything about it.

From some of the names and GROUPS that are said to be in process of being rebadged I'm concerned as some of them are 25-30+ yr Xerox employees

I was part of that in 2018. 2 days after transfer, they took away our cars. They said "as Contractors, you're not authorized to visit customers". No lie. I was in the middle of a Brenva install 2 hours away, and another customer was taking delivery 20 minutes away. The nearest trained analyst was 4 hours away, and he had to do the install. That was 6 years ago. I'm at a dealer now, the closest customer had his lease expire this year, we sold them the Kyocera Inkjet. Customer told me "I am done with Xerox", and won't even let the Xerox 'Tiger' in the front door. I have video of the Brenva I installed being removed. Take That Xerox.

What happens if the respective analyst does not accept the HCL offer?

Is that considered a resignation? meaning no severance will be paid?

In Xerox, Re-badging has become another form of lay-off… Less messy and costly .

Another shipwreck in the making ..This allows Xerox to prevent the word lay-offs

analysts do all your pre sales support, build out and connectivity for software and hardware. they do all your post sales support for hardware and software...

they do a lot. direct xerox does all escalations for first and third party software and of course hardware.

so all your support is gone

We lost a huge amount of knowledge and talent in the 2018/2019 layoffs and rebadging. Expect the same to happen now. This company is just a shell of what it was even 5 years ago.

This sounds exactly like 2019 and ProjectOwnIt. Last time it was 6000 jobs to HCL. Many people within Xerox quit. Some high up were sent to HCL and then reverted back to Xerox , probably because they were going to quit otherwise. Now, five years later Xerox is doing it again. Last time it was a disaster and Xerox lost so much talent that it just didn't get back. I'm hearing that there are some high up people who got the email this round. If that's true and some of them quit Xerox will be in some deep cr-p as far as support goes.
