Thread regarding Cisco Systems Inc. layoffs

It appears there will be fewer LR Package

There is a Director, Performance Management position advertised on the internal jobs board in San Jose. It pays $217k-$268k. Grad

Someone posted about a PIP early this week. Cisco is going to get rid of people by firing instead of paying them to go away.

Those of you still there take heed.

Corporate America has overused PIP and no one should feel ashamed about being put on PIP. If you are put on a PIP, stop work immediately; you are already fired. The only behavior that is actually your fault is ever having chosen to work for this company in the first place (and let's all accept we sc--wed up on that choice). This won't follow you; Cisco will verify your employment dates for a future employer or background check and that is it. Companies no longer divulge reasons an employee departed; too many lawsuits over the years.

The pip process does NOT have to last months and months. From coaching through pip can be wrapped up in 4 weeks if needed. And you actually need very little sign off and modest documentation.

Dont be naive
A pip process lasts a few months during which they have to pay you
It has to be documents multiple people involved etc etc
if you are not in US it costs them less to let you go with minimal severance package required by the law in other coutries

Vacation leads to PIP and PIP leads to "Lay Off" with no severance. I can see things getting pretty bad around here.

someone in TA here... some do have funding and some do not. Keep applying because you never know. There is a ton a competition but it's at least worth applying to. You can also try to pull this info from your recruiter. He/she might know if it's a real req or not. Up to you obviously, but you might as well give it a shot. Not all reqs have pre ID candidates.

Does the Director position actually have funding? In my experience reaching out to internal recruiters, they said most of the internal jobs didn't actually have funding

You shouldn't be allowed to post a job without funding. That's just evil

Just sickening. Cisco is always on the hunt to mess over their employees.

Glad to be let go. Goodbye and good riddens.

Let the scandalous behavior continue without me. I’m gone.
