Thread regarding Intel Corp. layoffs

So Intel will be fabless (in the future)

Pat, you are clever, you did plan from day1, good job, it is the same way as AMD and IBM have gone through, we need to cut asset and capital from B/S, and to be slim, https://www.intc.com/news-events/press-releases/detail/1710/a-message-from-intel-ceo-pat-gelsinger-to-employees

Wake up ! Wake up ! Wake up

  1. All successful semi conductor chip making companies today are fabless long time ago because of one company and I bet you know which one
  1. The only struggle semi conductor chip making company today is the one holding tie to its useless fabs and useless PE/managers.
  1. You need to be able to stand on your feet first after being KO so hard before you want to be a leader and lead again. Otherwise you are just a beaten clown keep falling down in the ring.
  1. Follow the money. Follow the success. Be fabless without any hesitation. No cost cutting no layoffs.

Intel will become a holding company.
ProdCo will become a design center
Foundry will become, well, a foundry.
Other subsidiaries will stay the same.

Much easier to peel away the unwanted pieces in the long term.
And, as usual, the employees will get the short end of the stick without lube.
