How is stack ranking done for people at different grade levels?

While we do stack rank we haven’t used the 9-blocker in years.

I could never figure it out : what’s better, a 6 or an 8?

Stack ranking totally happens at Cisco. Don't be naive. It just happens behind closed doors with no records. Look up the 9 block assessment.

Obviously every leader still stack ranks. What's different is that there is no common standard used across the company. Every Dir can have different methods of doing it.

Leaders have to stack rank before deciding on rewards. Otherwise, there's no differentiation in rewards, which HR actively advises against.

It’s technically not stack ranking, but there is a methodology managers use during award planning.

Just ask your manager to explain it. It’s not a secret.

Stack ranking has not been used at Cisco in over a decade.
