Thread regarding Ford layoffs

Playing mind games

I don't know a single person who feels relaxed and doesn't believe that the next round of layoffs is just around the corner. The management is happy to keep everything in limbo because they know some people will leave as they can't take all the uncertainty anymore. Working at Ford has turned into a mental torture game.

I don't know what you are driving your conclusions from. DF doesn't play mind games in Model e. We have a solid direction and vision for the future of Ford. The direction I speak of is not driven by resource reduction, that is certain.

You're giving management too much credit. They don't know what they're doing, let alone how to play mind games to get people to leave, and if they did, its typically the best people that leave first, and they don't want or need that. The fact of the matter is management doesn't know what to do, and therefore they don't know who they need to do it, and here we are.

The way they are doing performance now is definitely to prepare for the next round of layoffs.
Good advice from PP, do your job but milk it dry like they are doing. Build up your emergency savings and keep your resume updated in the background.

It is what you make of it. You can choose to sit and worry about it, or you can just go about your business. Think of our senior leadership as a slide post. Meaning they talk, they have my attention for at most a second, and I go about my business. Anything they say I no longer take seriously so there is no point in worrying about it. They don’t have my respect and quite frankly have created a legitimation crises with the lack of merit/accomplishment to obtain those positions. TLDR: milk it dry like they are doing and you will be at peace.
