I got a new job offer that starts in early September. I wish Cisco can LR me soon so I can start work in my new job. I wont tell Cisco as I plan to be paid at Cisco while I work at my other job. I don't want to miss out on whatever severance is coming my way after 17+ years at Cisco.
Free advice to all who are feeling the heat of this upcoming LR: dust off your resume, search online for jobs that interest you, send out as many job applications as you can. Once the LR shoe drops, you will be in a better position to score a new role if you haven't already found one. If you're lucky to escape this LR, it will be a good training experience for your next job search once good ole Cisco decides you're toast.

play golf with chuckie?
Good plan OP. I wish I could do what you are doing. If Chuckie is playing golf for an entire month and still gets paid why can't I work a 2nd job and get paid at Cisco too? Scamming the scammer is ethical and legal.
Pretty sure you will be violating both company's code of conduct.. so hope you don't get caught double dipping and wind up with no job.....
You don’t plan on severance, it happens to you.
Just wait till 9/16 to know your fate.
- If you got LRed, congratulations ! From this day no one will bother you. Just sign and take package and go to working on your new job.
- You are not LRed. Unfortunately you need decide to stay or to leave.
How is the extra 20K going to make a difference in the long term ? You risk losing the other job in the meantime as circumstances change daily and they may feel they don't need the position any longer. Take it and leave now is my suggestion
Take unlimited pto… keep both jobs!!
Start complaining to your manager and file complaints with HR.
You'll be on the LR list in no time.
