Welcome to the battledome. It's going to be a tough season for engineers. Way to support American jobs MW.

Not just engineers. Every job goes to India once executives get a taste for it. Whoever said only those who received an email will be impacted is an id--t. This isn’t a one time layoff. India will slowly take over all your jobs. Prepare to train your replacement. I’ve seen it firsthand at Exxon
If you didn't get the email you are not affected. Hello.
Post the email for all to see.
So all this so AS can return home to be close to his mother? Lol. https://www.msn.com/en-in/money/topstories/chevron-to-invest-1-billion-in-new-tech-hub-in-india/ar-AA1p8DjZ
Imagine all the Indians in US payroll who will take rolls in Bangalore with 50% premium plus paid housing and schools. Amazing.
With the number of Indians rocketing up through the tech and management ranks it was just a matter of time before this happened.
MW is reportedly disappointed in the CTC work product and results, particularly subsurface and drilling…
India is happy

So much for needing to be in the office to be productive and collaborate I guess.
Instead we’ll have employees working remote from India during opposite hours from the US. For the collaboration.
Everyone knows the best Indian engineers are all still in India dying for a night shift job
This may be the only way to get our costs competetive with Shall and Esson. Let's go, Balaji!
Why would anyone be told to move to Houston just for them to cut their job? Seems wrong to me
Engine as in Engine No. 1 that was supposed to change Exxon at the Board level? Who comes up with these names?
Have you heard about ONGC, BP and Indian Oil? Calling an entire group of people lazy and stupid sounds bigoted. All of them may not be as talented as Satya N. or Sundar P., but managing routine, repetitive tasks, any engineer in the world could do that. Indian engineers are capable of far more,
As a fellow Indian, Chevron management is stupid. Even BP and Exxon are finding out firsthand how incompetent and lazy the engineers in India are. Their assumption that the ones who immigrate to the US are representative of India is shockingly stupid. Let alone forget that Oil and Gas jobs in Bangalore are a joke. Top talent will be in tech not a dying industry in a country with little to no Oil and Gas assets locally. Why would the folks in India care if things goes sideways because they sc--wed up, Oil and Gas is not their economy. They will pay less for the worse engineers and realize this was a fools errand. This will be worse than the last reorg.
If you are tired of this stuff contact your congressman. Only way this stuff will stop some day:

MW is a greedy piece of $hit. His family doesn't ever have to worry about working - that is why he is ra-ing the company. If his family did need to work they might encourage him to keep jobs in America and have a bit of stiff border control and H1b visas -
Post the email
Hahahaha! Because India is known for its deep pool of petro-technical skillz.
@uwm
You mean the people that pushed the scamdemic and shutting down society for 2 years, sending the country spiraling?
Yes indeed. They're be getting the "Home Forever" part soon, in any event. Good luck with all that and paying the bills.
All those “work from home forever” people have themselves to thank. Congrats!
Is diversity is our strength in India?
And so there it is … the email that changes everything. And we thought “do better “ was bad.
What did you all think would
happen? Work from home showed them they could outsource. Chevron won’t be paying Indians to watch their kids, or run errands.
MW should ask Boeing how outsourcing engineering jobs has worked for them.
I hope the children and families of the execs / board find themselves jobless and without opportunity in the future.
The announcement pretty much can be summarized as, “everyone else is doing it to save money, so we have to as well.” Selling our souls.
if you are willing to take an Indian Salary, i am sure the jobs can stay here....
Bengaluru, also known as Bangalore, is a major city in southern India. It is the capital of the Indian state of Karnataka and is one of the country’s largest and most important cities. Bengaluru is often referred to as the “Silicon Valley of India” due to its role as a leading center for technology and innovation, housing numerous tech companies, startups, and research institutions. The city is known for its vibrant culture, mild climate, and significant contributions to India’s IT industry.
Bengaluru was previously known as Bangalore. The name was officially changed to Bengaluru in 2014 to reflect the original Kannada language name of the city. The name “Bangalore” had been used during British colonial rule, and the change to “Bengaluru” was part of a broader effort to restore the local names of cities in India.
In all my years I haven't seen such a monstrous email from management!!!
I read this email. To me it reads like a dressed up way of saying we are going to be outsourcing to save costs.
So much for keeping jobs in the US and ensuring we try to bring back job as well. Would be a shame this email makes its way to some news sites.
MW is Un-American
