@1eaf+1u4sWXfc - Management is responsible for just about everything you mentioned. They choose who to cut, how many to cut, how much and where to spend, and they even made the decision to empower lower management to make decisions because we don't have the people resources to due diligence otherwise. Someone has to be responsible for the issues, and as a GSR, it isn't me, and it isn't my peers. Even under performing employees that allowed to hang around are the result of poor management. My LL6 has literally complained about poor performance with purchase service employees, yet she won't do anything about it because if she did she wouldn't have anyone left to work. Wait, what!? Look, I do the best I can to do my job and I do what I'm told. GSR's aren't driving the bus ... we're all in the back screaming as management drives it off a cliff.

@qjd+1u4sWXfc A lot of LL5s and LL6s know bad things are happening, but they cannot stop the wrong ideas/orders from above. They have almost the same level of decision than GSRs. The issue is above them.
Normally, the middle and lower management are the one to blame in a company because they don't elevate the issues. According to the iceberg of ignorance, top management only knows 4% of the issues. At Ford, the question is... What's the point in elevating the issues? Upper management have no vision, no leadership, and they refuse to see reality.
The longer we wait in making drastic changes to our C-suite, BoD and "executive chair", the less chances the company has to survive. And those changes can only be forced by the same people that will be affected, so the changes will not happen. So I don't own any Ford stock because I think the company is doomed. Ford became another "Sears", dying an slow death.
The common theme is a lack of accountability. I am not going to list out the epic failures over the years (yes there were plenty under the Mullally era too). The common theme 1. Engineer would bring attention to an issue up front or discover it in development testing 2. Engineer would be gaslit by senior leadership and punished as opposed to rewarded for being diligent 3. Issue would be swept under the rug 4. Director drives would uncover it, because they compromised so much, to save face they would dare not call it out 5. Plant would start building them and piling up their yards with stop ships 6. The same directors who overly compromised would open the flood gates 7. The vehicles end up in the customer hands, and everyone wonders why warranty spend is out of control. The engineers who used to flag issues no longer escalate for psychological safety, and this compounds the issue. It’s not a DEI thing, it’s an accountability thing. I don’t care who you are: if you perpetuate the steps listed above, you should be fired. Simple as that.
How about Chucky Chesse himself ? Wondering what he's doing about this as he should have the power to make these decisions and changes for the LLs under him ...
Most of LL's have been in that position at least 20 yrs. No spine to stop Q issues, they are juts a bunch of Yes (W) Men. It does not matter if BF fires JF, the Q issues at Ford are inherent to their current (lack) of leadership. Just check CDSID for the people working at VHE under Chucky Cheese, same old names. When Mullaly got in power he offered Retirement Packages in 2007 and most of the "old" guard left Ford. Then talented engineers were promoted, now 17 years later those LL's are the problem for Ford to move fwd. LL's are interchangeable bt GRS's are not. LL's are useless paper pushers w/o spine are lack technical depth in their positions. Just ask any LL's how many positions he/she have been and I bet they have been in at least 5 different jobs. They are Jack of all trades and master of none.
if JF is feeling the heat, he should call his friend from Boston Consulting and devise a plan to replace all LL's with more than 10 yrs and w/o any depth in the section / department they are in charge.
Mullaly's tenure was a success because he had competent people in charge, old farts were let go. No Mullaly's people have become old farts then it is their time to go
@vfz+1u4sWXfc - I couldn't agree more. I've been here nearly 2 decades and it's the worst it's ever been in my opinion. No leadership or vision, and resources are ridiculously mismanaged, creating a LOT of wasted time and poor quality.
I am glad you referred to them as “Senior Management” because god knows we have NO Senior Leadership. There is a Big difference between management and leadership.
The vast majority from Farley down to the LL3 level need to be fired if this place wants to have a shot of making it.
Been here for a long time, this is the worst its ever been.
