Thread regarding Charles Schwab Corp. layoffs

What a year

Lay offs transitions, RTO, tech issues, overworked frontline.

Now it seems that we cannot take vacation in the month of December which has not been the case in the past.

Probably because Schwab is too cheap and will not hire more frontline employees.

Did you know that attrition for CS&S employees is now at 60% .. up 3x.

What is the he-l is happening to this company?

RUN RUN RUN. I was in SLT... There is a madness level of politics with the senior leaders. No one cares about people like you all who do the work and face clients day in/day out. They're just protecting their position. The IMO strategy is a complete joke. The pi---d of TD customers online tell the story. Maybe this will settle and the company will rise again but it's not done with its downward trend. Plus, the bond situation with interest rates puts real pressure on the company. It was such a great company before the TD acquisition - post, it's a he-l hole.

What is wrong with all those commenting this is fake news?? How the he-l would you know? In operations-move money, they make us fill out a holiday interest form where we write out the holidays and dates we’re most wanting off, in order of importance, and we may or may not get one of the choices granted, depending on coverage needs. And yes they do claim December, amongst other holidays, are blacked out for regular pto requests. I even interviewed for an internal position recently with AS WST, and that manager specifically mentioned hours were non negotiable (830-5) even tho I’m currently on a 630-3p schedule, and said December was blacked out for pto. Ridiculous. I think he could see the disdain on my face, which likely didn’t even make a difference on me not getting the job because they likely already had a candidate in mind anyways 😒

I’m also getting tired of scheduling days of literal months in advance. You mean I need to plan a Friday off 5+ months out. A day off during the week 2-3 months out like what

My manager, lead and architect all have worked from Europe and India for weeks. However will not allow any individual contributor junior and senior engineers to work remotely at all. Why this double standard ?

They continue to pay managers to hand out snacks. “Thank you for you hard work”
Here is some gold fish. You rock

To those calling bs, some departments have a history of rejecting December vacations for coverage. Other managers are just pitas.

What’s worse is when you’re at cap and HR won’t let you exceed and your manager won’t let you go.

Why don't employees just take time off in December and see if OP is telling the truth? Seems responses are skeptical of OP. Only one way to find out.

This is a lie, no one is being restricted from taking time off.

Who told you that you cannot take your accrued vacation? Seems odd.
