US Meraki

Any news on what will happen or how the LR's will affect Meraki?

I am an IC so take my information how you want but due to Meraki merging with EN/core in November, I had been told by several people that there would likely be more cuts than normal in this area. Meraki is obviously still doing well though so can't imagine it would be too drastic.

Where are you guys reading the Meraki numbers from? Have they been published somewhere? I am at Meraki too but no clue where to look.

Almost everywhere at Cisco is getting hit. Meraki will be less than others but not immune to cost cutting as they merge with EN to form Cisco Networking in FY25.

i haven't heard anything but am operating on a couple (wishful) assumptions. 1.) no news is good news 2.) meraki/cloud networking/security is inline with the future of the company so presumably if hit, we won't be hit as hard as older business lines

Meraki has been a big contributor to growth and cisco's bottom line and just had a good quarter. i can't imagine them tipping over the apple cart too much. i'm not in the sales org but i'm curious the impact of folding sales back into cisco. will there be redundancy they are looking to eliminate? I've noticed a network support has only been hiring in mexico city for quite some time (and they are hiring bilingual). Will they reduce US NSE head count?

I'm not gonna lie; I did not get particularly anxious in the first 2 rounds of layoffs, but the fact they are going for round 3 makes me worry they are looking to cut expenses in all areas of the business vs. the first 2 which had minimal impact.

We presume we get hit the same as everyone else

Best quarter to date @meraki was 4Q-24, it was +20% compared to 4QFY23

But it was flat FY 24 v FY23

But, FY23 was all about emptying the backlog and isn't a fair comparison, rather any 8 year old could draw a trend line in crayon since 2018 and it's double digits every year

But I am only an engineer and not smart enough to know why pulling the backlog through can't be normalized in the regression, and why a flat year over year in this context is actually good

Perhaps a finance expert can walk me through this
