Thread regarding Medical Solutions layoffs

MedSol Will Be Sold

With the CEO's push to integrate Host, WorldWide, Matchwell, and C&A, continued layoffs (over 200 in the 14 days of August), complete lack of communication, additional high-level management hires, and reorgs, the writing is on the wall.

They are trying to look profitable enough to sell.

If they were just "trimming the fat" they wouldn't be implementing all these extra things. Nor would they be outsourcing jobs that people already had. Everything with this company has become extremely shady. There's definitely more things behind the scenes that is happening that we just aren't aware of yet.

It's most definitely not just "trimming fat" and that's a terrible way of putting it. Hundreds/thousands of people lost there jobs. Some who devoted years to the company. You can't just overlook that. No matter what poor excuses they use for the "logical" reasoning behind it. There was absolutely no logic in this. Just corporate greed.

I don’t think they are trying to sell. I think they are trying to trim fat. Three companies with three over heads seems like a reasonable reason to merge. Overlap of departments and people doing the same job. Seems like a reasonable and the right thing considering financials?!

The news stations reported back in October they had already laid off 10%. Since then, they've been continuing to lay off people weekly/monthly. They've hit well over the 10% since that originally was hit in October. If they legally are supposed to do a "hiring freeze" they aren't following that as they have multiple jobs posted right now through LinkedIn. Some of which include recruiting and new outsourcing positions.

What legal actions can be taken at this point? The company has already been sued multiple times. Those cases are public record.

If you lay off 10% or more of your workforce, you legally have to go on a hiring freeze. Not only this, but there tends to be more media "attention" when this happens. They are likely layering layoffs to avoid both of these from happening. Anyone reach out to any media and let them know this is happening?

Does anyone think they could be trying to merge with VAYA? it would make sense with the CTO pick

I'm not thinking it's an urgency type of situation right now. They are focused on trying to get the company upright as it tanked within the last couple years. After they achieve that (if they can achieve that again unlikely), that's when I could see them trying to merge initiatives. Right now, merging initiatives wouldn't be the top priority getting the company upright would be to then transition into merging. Merging would be the next step after the company turns upright.

No one would want to merge with a company that tanked and/or buy a company that tanked. Which is why they are trying to turn it around.

Doesn’t sound like selling is the worst idea in the world to be honest. But as someone working on the C&A sales side, we have seen zero progress in merging initiatives so I’d have to disagree with the “urgency” behind that.
