We all know what’s going to happen. Selection of people who were or about to be laid off doesn’t seem entirely strategic. There will be a mess in many teams, a lot of work and particular tasks after people who were let go. Crippled teams will simply not be able to cover it all. Nor should they.

Don’t count on things improving after layoffs. I swear ppl here like to give the appearance of being valuable and busy by scheduling useless meetings for weeks on end, for things that can be resolved in a matter of minutes. Of course for that you’d need competent SWE’s on the teams, something which is in short supply in P+ tech/streaming
Dead weight senior management will be more visible now. You know who you are. Karma.
They're probably also banking on people leaving the company pre-next round of layoffs because they'll be miserable.
Skydance seems to want to turn the company into more of a Tech company, instead of tv, etc. and thinking they want to use mostly their own people. Thinking they are mostly buying the brand and names, not the people...
Praying I’m one of the remaining incompetents 🙏
It’s awful, frustrating, and depressing. While I understand there has to be some sort of operational ‘business as usual’ - all of this is making it exponentially more miserable and sad to try and balance everything when really what’s the point when who knows who’ll even be left at the end of September, not to mention all the teams that have been decimated and need to pick up the pieces and recreate their workstreams.
It’s totally reactionary, no strategy whatsoever. I’m afraid the most incompetent will remain, and the few bright spots will be let go, leaving a nightmare behind for those of us who actually have a clue. What a sh-tshow
I am one of those teams left crippled, and I am nothing but a pile of stress, while simultaneously mourning my coworkers who have become family. I am irate. Why did they even keep me.
I'm thinking teams across the company are being combined .. even if they don't seem like they would
