FYI - for those that were affected or will be affected by lay offs. Unless you live in the following states: California, Colorado, Illinois, Massachusetts and Montana you will NOT be paid out for unused vacation time as it is not required by state laws except in those places.

Yes taxes will be deducted
Does anyone know how that vacation payout is taxed?
Also make sure you fight for your unpaid vacation. You can still see what you have in work force - screen shot it and have on hand cause I've heard of folks leaving before the layoffs having to fight for that pay.
I used to know a fool that never took vacation 😂😉
If you started before the unlimited vacation time was implemented, I believe you will still get reimbursed for vacation pay up to until they instituted the unlimited PTO, and not for anything after. We essentially stopped accruing vacation days to be paid out at that point (in CA). If you started after the new unlimited vacation, you will not get paid out since there were no days being accrued to be paid out..
For the question about employees in CA with unlimited vacation time, unfortunately you get nothing. I know firsthand. What a way to say goodbye, right?
Since vacation time is unlimited I wonder how they handle it in California, Colorado, Illinois, Massachusetts and Montana?
