Remember the time when Exxon merged with Mobil, thousands of employees from both sides were let go. XTO folks had some protection from their leaders when they were acquired but over the years XOM infiltrated XTO and not XTO is fading. With Pioneer, XOM only wants their physical assets and not their employees.
You had better lay off some of your own instead, the people not originally from XTO have no idea what the f-ck they're doing. It's almost comical.
Absolutely. Acquisitions ALWAYS result in layoffs for the employees who were acquired, it’s called synergies.

Those layoffs are pioneer folks. With the Xom people involved anything is possible. Power grabs and politics are happening. Look at that org chart they put out.
