Thread regarding Medtronic Inc. layoffs

30% increase in CEO pay

Just unbelievable… 30% pay increase from last year to $20.1M. And 296 times more than Medtronic median workers pay. That a change from 230 times from last year. What did most of us get this year? 2%?

Jeoff and before him Omar are two alumni of GE's "Neutron" Jack Walsh. They are continuing the tradition of making terrible acquisitions and laying off workers to cover up for their incompetence. Where is a class action lawsuit when you need one? The many long term employees royally sc--wed by your ESPP holdings crashing, what are you waiting for?

MDT alum here.... Feels great knowing that I will increase my career earnings nearly $750ksolely based on getting min 3% annual merit at my new employer vs being told to be thankful for 2%. They need to start over and tell the shareholders to deal with it while they right the wrongs

All of the people listed are grossly over paid even if they did an average job but instead they do a horrible job that is destroying culture, hindering productivity and make bad decision after bad decision and still get paid handsomely. It makes me think of the Aussie break dancer Olympic performance. No business being there but some how they are!

Geoff must have been the one and only person at MDT who got a 5 in their performance review, which happens to come with a 30% increase.

This would ONLY make sense if the company has a clear direction and pathway to growth and increased revenue.
But again nothing makes sense here at MDT, we’ve purchased/acquired so many companies in the past few years that 100% written off as a loss…..hundred of millions of dollars of shareholder equity evaporated with nothing to show for. Even for divisions that were making money; we couldn’t form strategic partnerships or licenses to make revenue and now have shutters them completely.
Tragic.
