got some rsu from promotion this year. do i hold until after acquisition is done or do i sell now? if i get trimmed in the fat, i believe they are forfeited.

This is inaccurate. Various schedules exist for RSU vesting. Employee stock purchase programs for stock that is sold within 12 months of purchase date pay a short-term capital gains tax.
If the have vested (usually 1/3 vests each year for 3 years), then the shares are yours to keep. There a penalties for selling within 12 months of vesting, though.

the story here at netapp, just collect your paycheck and do your job. every 2 quarters just check in here to make sure you're not at risk for layoff. if there's rumors then just follow the same routine
The only acquisition rumors I've seen have been on this site from the odd fellow with an unhealthy obsession with Oracle.

Are you vested? If not then you cant do anything.
Most likely they will accelerate if a deal is done
