Thread regarding ExxonMobil Corp. layoffs

North American Consolidation

The tagging and survey teams are moving quickly through the Clinton campus. Have a few questions:

  1. What is the status of the new 6 story lab building in Texas they gutted and are rebuilding for the consolidation project?
  2. There is a lot of equipment up here, and some much larger than corporate seemed to realize. Yet much of it is still being tagged to go to Texas. Will there be enough room? Or will it all end up in "the boneyard" as has happened with other moves over the years?
  3. How is move prep going for Sarnia and Calgary?

Shouldn't this be called the North American Massive Layoff? Why do we still call it consolidation? It surely feels like a massive layoff here in Clinton.

@aca+1txxfusK because there is nothing like that already in Baytown, right?

As for move prep, it is now confirmed that they're not offering any of the hourly workers in Clinton any chance to move. They're just dumping all of them. Wow.

One direct Category 1 hurricane coming ashore in Baytown, Texas will flood the basement and 1st floor of all ExxonMobil buildings including any gutted building.

I hope we are reconsidering putting any experimental equipment in Baytown.
