For all those that have the nerve to say WFH employees don’t do they jobs and create more work for others are the ones that don’t know how to do their jobs and want the people that do know the job to come back to teach them how to do the job, well if you are returning to the office chose wisely on what you teach and who you teach, the entitled brats now working at L3H will stab you in the back and take credit for your years of knowledge and claim the triumphs for themselves, keep your knowledge don’t share it!! Let’s see how far they get!!

As for those that have been WFH yes we have all been working more hours and have had to take over the workload of those that were RIFd in April, doing the job of 4 people with no gratitude or acknowledgment and now you must return to the off to sit next to a 25 year old new grad who thinks the world owes them something, enjoy that, let’s see how many actually will RTO, not many, gonna loose a lot of good people and a huge amount of knowledge!!

The Resume Builder article titled “1 in 4 Companies Plan To Increase Required Days In-Office in 2025, Despite Majority Losing Talent Due to RTO Policy”. 86%, got it.

Copied and pasted from the original article.. As of July 2024, many companies are planning to increase the number of days employees spend in the office. According to a ResumeBuilder.com survey of 756 employers, a quarter of U.S. companies plan to require more in-office work in 2024, with 86% of those companies citing productivity as the main reason. Another survey of over 1,000 decision-makers found that 90% of companies plan to encourage employees to return to the office by the end of 2024, and almost 30% of those leaders said they would threaten to terminate employees who don't comply.

90% of employers who still have office space. Article goes on to say many companies have forgone their offices. And the 86% value isn’t in the article - it appears to have been made up. End of article states it’s an employee’s market with unemployment at a low.

For L3H, those employees who are attractive to competitors will leave for hybrid/WFH. Those employees who aren’t will remain with L3H.

There’s a lot of talk here about “data shows” without any references. My experience, we were far more productive with hybrid/WFH.

if you go to another company and tell them the reason you quit is because the company made you go back to the office, the prospective employer will view you as an insubordinate malcontent. a troublemaker. good luck getting a job with that. you're better off getting laid off or fired.

Every single response in favor of WFH has the words "I" or "Me". It's not about you. The decision to RTO was not personal. It was business. It's not just happening here, it's happening across the tech industry. L3Harris moved to a WFH and hybrid arrangement to minimize the exposure to COVID. That was it. The pandemic is over. The data shows WFH was not as profitable for THE COMPANY as full time on site work. Collaboration with coworkers in person produced faster and better results. You are fortunate that you had the chance to continue working without being exposed to infected employees in a crowded building. Some of us were not so fortunate. Some of us who had to go to work were exposed. Some of us got sick. And some of us died. Finding sympathy for your situation is falling on deaf ears. The company is your employer and they are in charge. They have given you instructions and 2 months to comply. Your options are to comply and maybe keep making a living, resign in protest and try your luck elsewhere, or get fired for insubordination. The last 2 options will not make you attractive to perspective employers. Relax. You still have a job.

I can sit in my office for weeks and not a sole ever comes there or rarely speaks. All meetings are in Teams or a phone call. Zero staff meetings. Zero project meetings. It’s a puzzle palace to get any type of notable communication other than layoff rumors.

Seems to me WFH people are being penalized because most of their leadership does not have the skill set to manage Remote workers. No planned check ins between leaders and employees. No set goals, No, measurable goals with examples of what your job requires to meet the goals. No scheduled checking between WFH and Manager with an agenda to discuss. No skip level meetings where employees can complain if their “level 5 is never in the office or doing his job. Finally. No accountability when the SAH employee Isn’t hitting their goals. As a matter of fact I don’t see any of these actions for the on-site crowd either. With all the training employers get in leadership and job skills, I don’t understand what the problem is. NOT!!!
So the slackers and the bad managers are going to basically ruin WFH for everyone

I will 100% be looking for other jobs. I'm way more efficient at home than in the office. No interruptions here. Additionally, wfh saves me 1hr and 45 minutes worth of commute time. I can start earlier or work later. Almost two hours of flex time saved from commuting is beneficial for myself and the company. It also allows me the time needed to help my children get ready and dropped off for school, etc.

A significant % of the hybrid people don’t even come in on all of their scheduled days. What’s most likely to happen is the new policy will be followed for a couple weeks, then gradually people will start working Fridays from home, then before you know it we’ll be back to what we are now.

judging by the number of pluses and minuses in this string of posts, it's clear that most of the people who visit this site are working from home. obviously, they have a lot of extra time on their hands. well, I guess it's time to go back to the office and do some real work like everybody else.

In my experience, WFH people were not contributing to the extent that they should be. I know all of the sites are different, but my site will definitely benefit by getting people back on site. And, if they want to move on to a different job instead of RTO, then good luck to them. This will be a good way to weed out the whiners.

L3Harris is turning this into a class war between the hybrid and on-site workers.

we really should be angry at the c-suite for destroying the company for short-term profits.

The WFH people have been the elephant in the room since the pandemic. everyone knew and continues to know that those folks did not put in a full day's work. many were even smug enough to brag about it, as specially among the engineering community. working from home was a cake job and has been defended jealously by the people that benefited from it. 3 years of metric gathering doesn't lie. performance from hybrid and work from home employees was sub par. those who continue to work on site during and after the pandemic saw increased workloads that had previously been done by people who transitioned to wfh. stop being a bunch of cry babies and get over yourselves. the party is over. get ready to get to work, or get the he-l out of the company. you are only dragging us down anyway.

It is silly to assume it is an honest assessment. Not the first time they have lied (or as they like to say misspoke). The notion hybrid workers were slacking is false. Fewer interruptions and you tend to work longer hours. Truth is, work is dwindling and they are hoping some of us will resign to save on severance in a future rif.

I’ve been here for just a year and I don’t think this is a company I can grow with.

Su-ks because people on my team who have been here for 15+ years say this is the worst they’ve seen this company act.

Not sure why you feel like that : @gve+1twAMl8G.

It’s true. I complete more work when I am wfh. I don’t have to sit in traffic for two hours. I can start earlier. The whole “poor performance” thing doesn’t make sense. My team has done stellar work with a hybrid schedule.

It is not our fault that we aren’t able to get new projects because our proposals su-k…..
Do they think RTO will solve this problem? No it won’t. But if they think it well then that’s fine. It’s their company and we are just minions who have to follow along or get fired.

It’s because they want to keep an eye on your every move. They want to be in control. Lmfao! Yes yes yes, that's what they are supposed to be doing. Sounds like the everyone gets a trophy crowd. Im sure your mom can call in and get this resolved as soon as possible.

Me. Hybrid offered a lot of flexibility that I’m not willing to part ways with. It’s NOT for poor performance as per their email.

It’s because they want to keep an eye on your every move. They want to be in control.
