Phishing emails

Is anyone getting an absurd amount of “phishing” emails recently? It doesn’t pop as a simulation when I report it. My theory is that fidelity is trying to get people to click on these to have a reason for firing for security breaches.

Phishing threats are becoming so complex with AI & new spoofing tools that the cybersecurity teams are pushing to level people up and protect themselves.

I’ve never heard of anyone being fired for phishing stimulations you would have to be duped by well beyond 4 of them for that to even be a thing.

Phishing emails are up because threats are up. You don’t get dinged if you delete them; only if you click on them.

If someone is looking to fire you it’s best to just move on - it’s unfair but that’s corporate for you

set up rule to put all external emails into a certain folder. you will need to add approved external addresses as needed, but i never get phishing emails now. it’s foolproof. and if you miss a legitimate email, who cares. nobody uses email anyway.

Don’t click on an email that’s not from someone you know or can identity in who’s who. Just delete. Definitely don’t click on links. Always report them if they’re trying to get you to click on something. I don’t think I’ve been seeing more lately, but AI is getting smarter.

I seem to get the legitimate ones in close succession but haven’t in awhile. So many I ignore them sometimes, they’re so obvious and no other spam gets through so it’s not tricking me. They get very annoying.
But no, lately I have not. And I haven’t gotten any that don’t return a message.

You may not be that far off in your theory.

If Fidelity is in the process of managing someone out or is looking to start that process with someone, management will use any trap they can . Had a manager who would listen to phone calls, comb through emails, go through desks, monitor transactions. Whatever it took to get rid of someone quickly and efficiently. And he allegedly had willing partners in HR and IT to do his bidding. Be very careful.
