Thread regarding PepsiCo Inc. (Pepsi) layoffs

Prepare for more layoffs

The earnings report is not good. We missed estimates for second-quarter revenue and reported declining volume across all three North American business units. We all know what this means. There will be a rush to try and fix the numbers so shareholders don't get too upset, and the easiest way to do it is by laying off even more people. Be ready for what's to come.

Won't happen, because for every corporate worker that is laid off for an offshored role there are 20 US citizens working in the front line making the sales. Our systems could go down but sales reps can still (painfully) take orders with pen and paper. What can lawmakers do when they give an international company visas to bring in foreign talent and on paper that company offshored only 10% of their workforce? They are so far removed from the real human impact of these strategies.

And when is US government going to mandate American jobs on foreign executives for company like Pepsico? If a company needs US customers for revenue, pay US employees and pay taxes to IRS to support this country. Offshoring jobs and taxes are not the right and fair method.

@6zbb+1ts8cLLV only certain levels had to get the jab. I believe L5 and up. I am L2 and never got the jab-thank goodness. They didn't force it on those who were close to the product. Head of HR said in a call that if management gets the jab, hopefully others below them would follow. They knew they couldn't force it on those in the field or in payroll because they would lose people.

Why are so many people downvoting the jab comments?

You didn't need to get it. I didn't, and I kept my job. This was a time where I needed to stand up for what was right for myself.

Regarding getting the covid vaccine, I thumbed my nose at every e- mail and am still vaccine free. Didn't hurt me one bit but i am in a payroll role and include praying for a package in my nightly prayers

The opinions here are from a well seasoned employee in Purchase. Layoffs have been the norm since my first year here every year, usually disguised as reorgs or some other fancy term! It has only.gotten worse as management has become more concerned with checking boxes vs aptitude when replacing employees let go! Nepotism is also a large player when it comes to hiring and promotions along with pushing initiatives that are not sales driven but political decisions!! As an employee I should not know my.company is about as far left leaning as possible but they think this makes them a great place to work but has done nothing but lose us market share and we are now 3rd in the world behind Coke and Pepper! Having the jab forced on me or lose my job has resulted in health issues for the rest of my life but fell in line with the White Houses wishes! We are what we hire and promote, campus hires 2 years ago are level 8s or higher now and it shows with the path we are on and the earnings results! Good luck and may the odds be ever in your favor!

And there is a tell-tell line in that report. "We plan to continue streamlining and optimizing our operations end to end;"
