Thread regarding Gainwell Technologies layoffs

HMS, a gainwell technologies company

Looks like HMS is about to be sold and gainwell is slowly removing their name from everything.

So many on this thread are spot on. If we could all walk out at the same time like in the movies it would serve them well but that’s not the reality. The quicker we leave this dumpster they won’t have a business to run. We are the gears that put things in motion. With their horrible pay no one will want to join this company. They are looking for any reason to cut the workforce for cheaper labor so be careful. DPA is monitoring every keystroke, mouse clicks, idle time, inactive time, applications, websites you visit to see if it’s job related. No one or no dept is safe. We’re only numbers. Continue to leave bad but truthful reviews on job boards and spread the word. Be smart about how you move and get out of here with the integrity and dignity we have left before they ruin us! I refuse to carry this over to my new job.

@Blue

Probably leaders attempting to do damage control. Or people with big egos that are too proud to admit the company they work for is circling the drain.

Why is it that some folks attempt to defend Gainwell? There really is no leg to stand on.

Run, don’t walk, to the nearest exit Gainwell employees.

Ethical standards at Gainwell…. Hahahaha.

Transparency, standing in the merits of what we sell…hahahaha.

Really? Seriously?

What a joke. Gainwell is the bottom of the barrel alright. It is one of the most unethical and illegal companies in existence.

If you came here from HMS and are still here then you have been su-ked into the swamp of Gainwell Technologies.

We all need to leave. We all are in a bad spot in life by being affiliated with this company.

It’s too bad we can’t have a mass walkout. A mass of like 80% of employees just walking out. That’s what it will take for Gainwell to see reality. Otherwise they will continue to be the meat grinder that they are. They destroy good people and employees. We are but cannon fodder for them. And the leadership team has an ego that won’t quit. All of us are just a number. They want to fire all of us and replace us with something cheaper. But sadly all of us cannot walk out. We have families and lives. We have bills. But we all should be looking for another job. And we should get out as soon as possible. It’s simply not worth the pain of staying employed by Gainwell.

I need everyone on here to do some research as to what kind of company HMS was right before they were bought by Gainwell. They were absolutely thriving both financially and culturally. They were ripe to be bought because the leadership team was ready to cash out and retire. Unfortunately, they were bought by a private equity that split them and put one half under Gainwell who hadn't even existed for a year yet and was clearly not able to integrate them properly. HMS had some of the smartest, hardworking and loyal employees I have ever been around. Very few of those people still exist at Gainwell today because they were smart enough to get out when they saw what a toxic environment they were facing. The state of Gainwell is what it is because of Veritas and the Executive team at Gainwell. They are the absolute bottom of the barrel and do not care nor have ever cared about their employees. They are looking to get a huge payout and move on. They have driven this company in the ground.

Wasn’t HMS also a conglomerate like Gainwell and DXC? Random pieces of other companies slapped together?

I think the majority agree that “some” HMS people are decent employees. However the majority may not be. And we can agree that Gainwell has done a terrible job of buying and integrating HMS. Gainwell is a worse company by far. Being bought was a downgrade for any HMS person. But the reality of the situation is that we are roommates now. We dont like each other and we don’t get along. HMS doesn’t fit in. They don’t mesh with Gainwell. Step children is a good analogy. By not integrating well and not knowing how to run a company Gainwell leadership has taken on some dead weight. This dead weight is HMS. Some of that is the leadership teams fault the remainder is HMS fault.

My current boss came from HMS. He has no clue how to manage people. He is a terrible boss and a terrible leader.

Not all HMS employees are dead weight. With anything there are those who should not be in their position, I agree. We did not ask for this terrible ongoing implementation or shamble of a company. We have always felt like and treated like we never belonged. We are the last to know anything and no one can help us because everything is so separated. GWT tech support btw is horrible. All the knowledgeable HMS techies are gone. Early on there were folks on GWT side who said how happy they were that HMS help desk came on because they have always had issues. On top of that HMS brings in money each month. Nothing is perfect but to pretend HMS doesn’t do anything goes to show that you don’t have a clue.

HMS. The stepchildren of Gainwell.

Pretty obvious that there are some HMS people on here trying to sound like they know what they are doing.

Reality is that as a whole HMS people are under trained, lack knowledge, pretend to know more than they actually do, are not able lead people, and are all around difficult to work with.

Sell the dead weight. Then Gainwell should be sold to someone that can actually run the company legally and ethically.

Unfortunately, I haven't had the greatest experience with the HMS side. And that is not necessarily the fault of any specific individual aside from the managers that try to piecemeal things together with the organizational skills of a 2nd grader.

That best thing for HMS/Gainwell is to sell off to a company that is truly technical based. Get rid of those managers who were put in place because they merely have an MBA or been project managers with little or no hand on experience.

Nothing says dysfunctional as to walk in one day. Find out that a new acronym and organizational unit has been in place. And for your manager to say, oops. I thought you had been told about that. My bad and SURPRISE! Oh yeah, we haven't defined the necessary processes to deal with it.

The ITO section of Gainwell is awful. Too many managers that bounce off each other

All of the legacy HMS people I’ve encountered are extremely intelligent, and many are still passionate about the work

Terrible are those CEF solution architects who earn a lot only to eat free lunches at Gainwell.
Some think they are fooling others by earning 200K+ and just playing games at work, but everyone around can easily sense it. Titles like Sr. Principal architects but are d-mber than even college grads.

HMS outstanding? Really?

They have all been terrible from my experience. But terrible fits in at Gainwell Technologies.

The people I’ve worked with since HMS came aboard have been outstanding. I thought they were better trained than what I’ve seen at GW.

And an upvote to @ Your Knickrehm-Connolly Leadership Team for the solid username.

I agree. I have two HMS bosses. My direct boss and their boss. Both of them are terrible. They have no idea how to manage people. They don’t care about people. It really is a wonder to how they became bosses in the first place.

All HMS people can leave. They bring no value to Gainwell.

All of the HMS employees that came to Gainwell need to leave when it’s sold. They have not helped anything.

HMS was never integrated properly into Gainwell. Perhaps for the better: They can now sell it.

The reasons are easy to guess:

  1. Cash. The company is losing $100M+/year and needs cash to stay afloat.
  2. A “simpler” sale story for the remainder of Gainwell. The second shoe to drop will be that a big PE firm like Carlyle will buy the stripped-down Gainwell for a bargain price, combine it with Acentra Health, lay off several hundred people, and declare victory.

This is what late-stage capitalism looks like :-)
