Fidelity Instagram-Bait and Switch?

Anyone see the Fidelity Jobs Instagram page? It’s one silly video after another of people high fiving one another, getting coffee with their work besties, bringing their parents to work and other childish, kindergarten type nonsense. I worked at Fidelity for 6 years. I don’t remember this type of levity being promoted at the branches or at the phone sites.

Is it all just a bait and switch on Fidelity’s part to get people to work there so they have more souls to feed upon? Are the reviews on Glassdoor and Indeed practicing the same tactic? Are there Fidelity shills on this site as well, hoping to ratio any negative comments?

They did have a “bring your parents to work day” in Boston in June. That is real. It seemed like a way to get a bunch of boomers in and try to get their retirement money. They had seminars about retirement and gave them lobster rolls for lunch and had the Fidelity Choir sing to them. So there you go. And people do get coffee together and stuff. I haven’t seen this Instagram but I’m sure it’s a very curated set of photo ops. It’s definitely not candids, these photos are either staged or at least they are asking peoples permission to take a photo and then setting the shot up the way they want it.

If that levity happened on the floor in FFIO it would be recorded by a director and sent to a SVP who would make a federal case out of it with the managers.
