Thread regarding Sabre Holdings layoffs

Empty Shell

Sabre is now an empty shell after key members left in June and others leaving in September. Not sure how the leadership is communicating to the remaining few customers that they will get no support. How is Sabre even marketing the new offer/order product when it is only an idea and Sabre has no budget or resources to develop anything?

@dfuv+1tpPjtIu why are you begging airlines to invest? Because Sabre is bankrupt. Is barely able to pay interest on the $5 Billion debt to be able to pay for any investment.

This is what happens when you offshore.

The voluntary severance package was only for people located in the US. The O/O dev team members were not all based in the US. So the entire O/O dev team could not have taken the voluntary severance package.

I agree - Sabre is pulling a scam. Sabre does not have budget or resources to develop anything.Remember the reason ALL of O/O Dev Team (unlike what Mike R says) took the severance package.

@dfuv+1tpPjtIu is Mike R. All of the key O/O resources left Sabre because they saw the scam. Sabre will claim to have resources in KRK and BLR, however these resources know NOTHING about airline business. DO NOT get scammed!!!

So no budget,no resources on O/O and yet as of today we continue to work on it with same amount of Scrum teams as before re org.Sorry but sth from the stuff that you guys hear doesn't seem to match reality.Unless you refer to 2025 and further plans, then please state that clear.

Understand this - Kurt was not brought in to provide a new direction for Sabre. KE is here to sell off business units and salvage the ruins. We (Product Development) were clearly told that there is no budget for O/O development.

@aftu+1tpPjtIu is trying to pull off a scam. The reason why the entire O/O leadership opted for VSP is because they knew there is no path forward for Sabre. There are no resources or money to develop anything. Sabre is growing to be an extremely dishonest company and Airline customers need to protect their interests.

It's not true that we don't have resources to build offer/orders anymore.Majority of development is taking place in Krk where team members were not offered SVP.Of course we've lost some leaders in US but even after reorg and the whole confusion due to that I can cleraly see that by now Offer/Orders development is a well oiled machine that doesn't stop.So far we don't see even SINGLE capability delayed due to restructure. And I'm not any O/O leader who needs to say so....

i don't think DEI is what's wrong with sabre. it's not like they focused on DEI to the detriment of product development - it's more like they never had a cogent vision for product development in the first place. there was no there there.

DEI at Sabre includes all but the white Texan majority TBH

Forced pride and DEI training? So, no push back. I sure would have. Clearly explains Sabre’s lose of focus.

Forcing pride month and DEI trainings is discrimination. If the company had spent time on product development then it would not be on the brink of selling of Sabre Hospitality and going bankrupt.

In the US, it is illegal to discriminate against someone on the basis of race, color, religion, national origin, or s-x so what categories would Sabre's DEI hiring quotas specify?

I have not heard of any DEI hiring quotas. The only hiring quotas I know of specify the physical location of the hire.

I just hire people who I think can do the job the best of the candidates that applied, in the physical location the position is located in.

Key members? It is a joke.

DEI can make a positive difference if not done for the sake of quotas or appearances. People who know the industry of whatever the direction this organization takes or is told to take is most important of all..No matter who they are or where they come from.

DEI does play a role in their financial downfall! They invest so much time, effort and money into this program with full time staff. Then on top of that they need to hire inadequate skill-sets just because the company must show they hire all these DEI type of people. Mark Cuban is all for DEI yet he only hires tall men! Lol. DEI will destroy the world.

Buddy,
Please explain how DEI has anything to do with Sabre's current financial conundrum. Far more productive to use your problem-solving energies toward positive endeavors.

Any house cleaning in PD? Nothing is going to change until they do that. But hey, that’s ok we’re a DEI company.
