Very true about the money need... I have to give some credit to the troll who started this thread ..."we were warned"
Never before the Kingdom needed money as it does now therefore the cuts have to be sharp in large numbers. I am surprised many people have not heard about this yet.
But I do not understand the timing usually massive layoffs happen midyear to support school changes. In my department hiring still happening so are extensions.
I don't believe the number 800+ people as quoted in this forum.
Layoffs are incoming, almost all departments will put forward candidates. Expats and locals close to retirement will go.
What Ugly said is true mostly for downstream + finance + other minor upstream d. this is a major move Personnel must take. It came straight from the Ministry, not Aramco.
Uglytruth:
IMO...Your post seems excessive and hyperbolic.
Can you back it up with something or are you just spouting off?
It is 2020 again and layoffs have started so 700+ families may have to leave camp before december. No extensions, promotions, new hires, for 2 years. Both Saudis and Expats to be carnaged. Have a plan B
I hope to live long enough to see full Saudization. That scene from the movie Downfall comes to mind 😏
Well hehe, this applies to both Saudis and expats.
Before you label expats as bloodsuckers:
None of the expats were desperate for employment before Aramco has recruited them. They were all employed, most working for global major companies, where you would not make it through the front door!
Aramco has a KPI to recruit expats and goes through an extensive process to recruit them.
If you feel that is wrong, which clearly you do, then tell Aramco not to recruit expats.
Class of 2020 here. Time to polish those CVs.
The department of making stuff up
Which department got hit?
Started now, it is a carnage, 4 expats and 4 locals in my department.
Good. Thought it was just me having trouble with that one.
That response doesn’t even make sense…
Well, to be fair, they can take more money before next year taxes, also will be more difficult to take out the money for common people, no longer accepting accounts in tax heaven places.
He's happy and lazy
Yep, their writing skills and word choice usually give them away.
I wonder which local, paid-up shill wrote this poorly phrased, grammatically incorrect statement?
If they really did care about slackers, the first thing they’d do is fall on their sword via a visit to the sterilization center.
Same here, everyone knows. Let's hope it isn't a massacre. Time to get creative.
All stock companies reduce benefits as they age. The idea as an employee is to work for a company that is still adding benefits.
I retired in 2019 and I miss not only the paycheck but the life in camp. The office work wasn't so bad either. What was frustrating was the slow erosion of company benefits.
Getting tough all over guys.
We heard the same here and it 'll happen soon. Maybe by october
Low performing locals / top-dollar expats esp disliked by M-Dir.
Has to be done before some departments further parting into more burocratic hells n 2025
It’s incoming. Profits are down owing to the kingdom and OPECs failed approach to rig the market. Old payrolls will be top of pile. Ditto anyone close to promotion or retirement.
Legions of lower paid expats are desperate to sign on the line…
Belt tightening has begun in my AA, even business trips have to be authorised by the SVP now…
@ OP+1tohdSop:
seems you never made it anywhere...
A friend confirmed it's coming bett3r be ready
Its simple really, it your western your out, only question is when.
