Learn from Exxon websites. DO NOT TRAIN YOUR REPLACEMENTS - ACTIVELY sabotage them. I have friends in Exxon who are doing that and have been successful to save their little fiefdom but those who couldn’t are all gone.

the new CIO is busy travelling the world. Microsoft and consultants run CVX IT.. no need for old or new CIO to communicate. If you are CVX IT employees, go to your consultants for guidance
last time I was ordered to train my replacement (in 2002) they told me if I did not I would not get severance.
That will change you mind , nothing like blackmail
It will be good time to clean house of the useless slugs who make comments like "I aint training nobody I just do whatever I want" on this site. Excellent!
Yup I heard it too from my manager. It’s confidential till Aug town hall. Gonna go to Exxon model outsourcing jobs overseas to India. There will be multi year timeline.
Every time I get asked to train a "back up", I always say naaah.
Still here. F 'em.
The axeman commeth. The folks who have so little to do that they post all day on this board would be a good place to start.
If you're asked to train your replacement, and they haven't guaranteed your own next spot, that's a clear sign you're on the chopping block.
Exxon has the most cut throat toxic culture.. please do not copy that
We have a new CIO? Haven’t heard anything from even the old one. Used to have town halls. But nowadays, I don’t think we have had one in years. Who cares if the new guy isn’t addressing the employees? Has it ever really mattered?
What a bunch of middle school children.
Don't train them and sabotage. We shouldn't help the company cut costs in this way. Have some decency and stay American. It looks like the new CIO will be a bad one. He hasn't had the decency to address the employees. Management is so "transparent".
