Thread regarding Medical Solutions layoffs

outsourcing roles overseas now

Many shifts happening with the restructuring and last round of layoffs that have lead to training different credentialing roles and shifting of managers and job expectations. An email was dropped with exciting news about partners from the Philippines who will now be doing more data entry, ordering, etc. As it was posed as exciting news, but it is a movement towards cheaper labor. There has been no news of more layoffs yet, but with this move towards outsourcing its only a matter of time before they see more shifts in roles and more cuts. Its the same thing that has happened with other companies, such as AMN/Medefis. It is clear that upper management is only concerned with the bottom line and not making moves that make any sense at all for the business other than cutting costs. Things arent being vetted out in the decisions or plans being made,. The people who are working still are too scared to say anything in fear they will be next on the chopping block or looked at for performance issues or not going along with the changes. It is very suspicious of what is actually going on behind the scenes with the hurried and scattered timelines given. No though process was behind any of this in how it will affect business in the long run.

That’s funny Bc I worked in billing and in the old billing system they had a team in the Philippines to send out the invoices for us, then when we got our new system they let them go.

They aren’t hiring more in the c suite, they are replacing those who were let go (CFO, HR, IT). Guessing they won’t replace Adam and Holly who are now gone. This is a whole different company now.

Why are they cutting essentials roles and hiring more c suite positions. At what point do they start laying off the people that su-k the most money and clearly don’t know how to run a company?

For them to say they don't have enough headcount for credentialing, but yet that was one of the bigger cuts of people being let go makes no sense. I had a previous company that outsourced to other countries such as the Philippines and they ended up letting go of over half the company, and went in a completely different direction with the company. Traveling nursing isn't in high demand anymore. I wouldn't be surprised if they completely abandon that route and go a completely different path which could explain why they are outsourcing to other countries. I don't foresee this being a good thing and one thing is certain more layoffs will happen if they find a cheaper avenue or cheaper people to do the same work that we've been doing.

We should assume this also means further outsourcing of IT and systems functions.

I’m glad you mentioned this. I saw this and said the exact same thing.. why are they taking half of the workload off of credentialing if they say there isn’t enough headcount to begin with?
