Thread regarding AIG (American Intl Group Inc.) layoffs

Worst kept secret is finally out

Yet another sell off… because there isn’t enough work with too few employees to do it. Wonder how bad this one will be organized as compared to the other separation disasters

With as much of the development being Accenture and the infra no longer being AIG, I don’t know how hard it’ll be to break off. It seems like the extra cost of moving to external infra was indeed for a purpose.

The few that are left in TG are sold, but then they have the building with other BUs in there like A&H. I wonder where they’re going?

The executive team needs to collect their golden parachutes some how. By the time PZ is done with his contract, there will be nothing left. But they will continue to sell you on the idea that everything will be ok, when it will not be.

And pretty cr-ppy vendors, they are selling junior developers like if they were senior. The technology stack is getting sh-t on but everybody seems happy with saving some bucks.

What, all the stuff we’ve sold hasn’t been migrated yet? PZ seems to think so. Guess leaders are scared to tell him the bad news. Can’t blame FTEs anymore for stuff not getting done. Technology is now run by vendors.
