Thread regarding Wayfair Inc. layoffs

Working here affects my health

It’s been increasingly stressful, and unpredictable. We can’t work without having a slightest idea where we’re heading. I can’t make any personal plans or investments, because I have no clue how things will be tomorrow. And I’m so deep in chaotic work, trying to keep things together, and simultaneously worrying about my future, that I have neither time nor capacity to stop for a second and think about my other options in life. I’m tired, exhausted, I can feel this beginning to ruin my physical and emotional health, and I have no motivation whatsoever.

You wouldn’t believe the messes just today I have tried to fix. Being screamed at, called incompetent, being called a c**t, constant verbal abuse for things we had no hand in. These customers also can scream, yell, name call, threaten, I had someone threaten my life NOTHING but we get called at for “our tone” by some AI system. I am seeing overseas now in tech, LPS, it’s been a damn nightmare I have tech agents emailing me at 3am. They tell the customer they can’t “run that resolution” and “to wait 10 minutes then call in” it’s BS! Also how is it that every end of the month I somehow get a day with 0% FCR (which how is every single one of my contacts contacting that day) that alone is not what bothers me what bothers me is I was Platinum and that 0% dropped me 20%. Keep in mind FCR is the highest paid metric. People mental health is in the toilet because wayfair allows customers to talk to their employees like garbage but god forbid we have a “tone” after being screamed at. Make it make sense

What customer service agent gets paid a large salary????? They have every right to complain! There is some serious problems on that team not caused by the US agents but they are taking the hit for it. No customer service job should be at this level of stress. The fact that the ones with real complaints are probably tenured agents who have only been feeling this strain since Wayfair decided to hire on an entire overseas team. No one had these issues 2,3 or 4 yrs ago. That team pawns off their work and make huge messes for everyone by lying to the customer. And it leaves everyone else to clean up. They definitely do not get paid enough for the kind of stress they have been dealing with for the past 8 months.

I have never seen a company with so many tech issues, supplier issues and so dysfunctional. Add to that the constant threat of layoffs and impossible metrics.

Funny these people have no complaints about getting paid huge salaries, but when that pay comes with responsibility and stress it’s such a huge problem lol.

Start looking for another job when you have down time. I worked at Wayfair last summer and was the same as you. I could not handle the stress anymore and brushed up my resume and started applying to jobs when I was off work. Within a month I was able to land a new gig making a $1 more and way better work life balance. Don't give up hope!! But do everything you can to get out of there. I don't work at Wayfair anymore but I am glad I left. It was nothing but stress. I was a phone CSR and the metrics was impossible to reach.
