SOL has gone under $50 already. Looks like it cannot flourish on its own. I wonder why Mikey keeps boasting the spinoff is into 2 "world class" company?

Solventum is crushed. 3M parentco is lucky to have spinoff this and pass some big debt for them.

Head of Solventum apps….complete rookie (Dan). The ERP, digital capabilities are doomed. At least he makes a mean power point!

I’ve heard rumors of ‘pruning’ which I take to mean reducing divisions, so my guess might be Scott and Fall packaged, plus some small, but underperforming CBG divisions, followed by some possible division consolidation. To be fair, no real context to back this up, just assumption based on rumors

Well if we were going to then we are doing a cr-ppy job of not. Those business units are getting more and more integrated with rest of the division every months. I’d hate to be spending all the money to integrate them and then just sell them off. What a waste!

If it truly drop to $40, those ex3M employees who went over just had a 50% cut in terms of share equity. What a deal.

Looks like Solventum could be further breakup and acquired separately

The realized they are a medtech company without a data/digital strategy as HIS is completely focused on retention of revenue with a 100% custom business model with 0% growth opportunity.

Solventum was handed a boatload of debt from 3M as part of the spinoff, so the drop in stock price is not surprising. Who knows what the future holds, but it appears they have a much more fighting chance of survival than Imation ever did.

What is happening to Solventum? Shares have drop from $80 towards $50? Was it a good spinoff?

Scott and Fall being packaged and sold. They have their own manufacturing, sales teams, and are really self contained companies. They also have a ton of recalls, expensive testing, require technical sales experts, and all the things 3M doesn't do well.

No important brands as “Futuro” or “Nexcare”?
