Thread regarding Cisco Systems Inc. layoffs

What happens if you don’t show up on your LR call?

No manager communication, no official layoff status change, right? You can only delay, not change the outcome… BUT if notification date is delayed, you get extra days added till the actual notification. Turn off mobile devices, PC, Internet, no emails. Hide under a rock, earn little extra, they can’t come after you physically. They will try hard, but you know why…. Don’t fall for their trap. Food for thoughts people. Anyone tried this and got rewarded?

You will lose a month of severance if you don't take the call. Try it.

This is dangerous, cpuld turn fired without cause into fired WITH cause, and therefore no severance.

Bay area jobs will be cut 45% and internal jobs all are in the RTP. So , minimum 70% employees impacted in the bay area will not accept relocation, this is the strategy save the cost and reduce headcount.

I would assume you will get fired for cause.

Those internal jobs are pre-identified or onboarded or red badge conversion
HR is keeps giving sh-t about internal job opportunities

You will miss a bunch of useless group calls with HR where they can tell you that you can apply for internal jobs that dont really exist

technically the loophole is to go on medical leave for anxiety & depression before a layoff (doctors note necessary)

delays a layoff by another 2 years
