They’ll use the same lie that it’s not about saving money, it’s about shifting to AI etc. Except they won’t really hire people for AI either. At some point an activist investor will sue them for their lies.

You would think Fran at least has enough brains to not post Paris photos of her and family all over LinkedIn but I guess that is asking too much of the fake princess
The OP is correct in asserting the ELT should have attended as Cisco was a key partner.
Why would the ELT need to be there? In what capacity does Fran, as the CPPPO, serve in ensuring that things go well w/ the customer and get technical issues fixed if something happens? The executive leader of the BU that's providing the service to the Olympics, and some people below that, but all of the ELT? That's just stupid and taking advantage of an expensive perk when you're about to say "we need to cut costs..."
I'm so over Fran and her smile and completely insensitive personality. LR's used to be handled better & less often under Chambers. She needs to go.

I’d say most (all?) of the ELT flew private over to Paris. But they are super serious about climate change and climate impact guys. Like… super dooper serious ok.
When a company is in dire straits like Cisco is today this behavior is unethical
I can see both sides of the discussion to a point. The OP is correct in asserting the ELT should have attended as Cisco was a key partner. On the other hand given the LR news was their attendance excessive and should they be posting pictures? The later shows potentially how insensitive leadership has become to the entire LR process which is now BAU. Look at last weeks news regarding the leaders that supposedly went river rafting, another example of excess and insensitivity. Cisco leadership needs to do some soul searching. (Oh and figure out how to run a thriving and growing business)

I suspect that for these roles it is customary to have an inbox that is for the entire company and that the personal assistant monitors and then there is a personal and not widely known one that is used to communicate things that are highly confidential (CIO to CEO,CFO to CEO and so on)
Probably we can flood the lower level guys with this but ...to what effect ?
It's too bad that we can't have these frank and anonymous discussions in a Cisco forum so that Chuck, Fran and company get the message. The Cisco network police just make it way to dangerous to make any honest comments, only happy, rosy comments are acceptable.
This will be a forever memory for me, Fran announcing layoffs with a sweet smile to charm the audience. She probably understood early in her career that smiling is a good thing to do when communicating and that became her second nature. like a reflex act, like breathing
