It just boggles my mind when Cisco says we won’t lose the AI transformation. Their strategy is to convince enterprises (Who have already gone to the cloud -i.e. Missed once) to build AI infrastructure on UCS and their ethernet platform. Firstly Enterprises are not investing on datacenters if they want to Build AI infra they are going to use Cloud Providers who build this on commodity hardware to build the HP for their loads. They dont need Cisco for that. The sales force is simply goin to waste time hunting for customers that dont have any usecase like that. What they will do is enable Gemini or Chatgpt or any other OpenAPI and just integrate into their apps.
They need to do what google did with apple a partnership that makes google search engine default on apple iphone.

Google paid Apple “around $18 billion” in 2021 to be the default search engine on their products. This is a PER-YEAR number.
The ELT are slimy used car sales people, including G2 and JD. They are completely clueless.
And @rvq, where do we find that visionary leader?
They need to partner with microsoft , google amazon , etc to put their sh-t in their cloud and get royalty on it as consumers consume ai in the cloud. Find a GPU equivalent that has to be in an AI infrastructure. For that we need a visionary leader who can broker big partnerships.
In Cisco AI just like Woke, its a fantasy for those senior Woke person.
I really don't feel we have the leader who can lead AI. For most of case the responsibility will push down to some new hire or old engineer(one who will be LRed along the project).
All network vendors are hoping for enterprise AI buildouts for custom usecases (which don’t exist yet) - Arista and juniper (based on LinkedIn articles) seem to be winning in this current AI builds. But it’s true that everyone and their mom are realizing the AI bubble
