Thread regarding Gainwell Technologies layoffs

The toxicity and fight to be top-g-n continues

The working environment continues to worsen as people go into survival of the fittest mode. Manager's are choosing their favorites, by giving certain people more information, guidance or tasks while leaving the others off to the side.

It's bad enough if you have manager that has a degree of honor and integrity. but if you don't. Well, everyday becomes a day of limited isolation amid mind and control games. Then you have the subordinates that follow suite with the same type of behavior. Monkey see, monkey do

Per chance, we have some C suite or executive manager deciding to slum it for the day and cruise these postings. Instead of penalizing the good people that are there for a career and to support themselves. Get rid of the awful managers that have pretty much put this company into the state that it is now.

@Walter

You do get a paycheck. So you should at least do your job. But beyond that, I agree, no.

I am literally fed up with being used and abused. Therefore I have no confidence nor respect for my immediate manager/supervisor, in addition to many managers/supervisors in other departments within the ITO area of Gainwell. When you have a textbook definition of a narcissist as managers/sups. Ones that often require gas-lighting and pitting subordinates against each other as a method of management/control. It's easy not to care.

@Accenture Man

I agree 100%. Gainwell is only bare minimum. They certainly don’t value me so I am not doing any extra for them. Bare minimum is what Gainwell is worth.

I do nothing as often as possible. I suggest everyone else do the same. Lay low. Keep quiet. Stay out of the attention of leaders.

Bad advice. Do the bare minimum. Gainwell is a bare minimum company.

My advise to those who fall under managers/supervisors that are merely trying to concrete or justify their own jobs at the expense of others Do your job to the best of your ability. Don't waste your energy on them.

If you have co-workers who have that 'Look-at-me', 'Look-at-me' stance to justify their worthiness. Leave them be and do your job. You can't be worrying yourself about folks who have self-esteem issues

Don't waste your energy on anything other than doing your job and leaving at the end of the day. Because nothings matters more than you and your family's well-being.

It's rough. Especially when you don't have a good department manager and then your supervisors are playing off you to stay afloat themselves. Then your co-workers follow suite because it is now the norm.

And you have a feeling that the manager over your department manager knows about the situation but turns a blind eye. Because at the end of the day, he only cares about keeping his job.

To root out the rot, it going take DW and her influence to be removed. Then her underlings or protectees set on a major course correction.

JR is a joke. His own employees can't stand him and make fun of him on a daily basis.

Another cargory of mgrs that are just for $$$ and manage just a few may be 2-3 emps. These are real problem as they have over milked the corporation using their individual skills over years and do not fit in there anymore. Also, they do not have true management skills.

There are those who promoted tem need to be fires.

Interesting topic and thought provoking posts.

There are good people at Gainwell, but there are plenty of bullies and narcissist as well. And if you happen to have a bully/narcissist in a place of power. it makes the workplace a literal minefield. Then you have those who are scared for whatever reason to do the right thing, Inadvertently becoming followers rather than true leaders even if they are managers. They pick up bad habits and start exhibiting like behavior to fit in or not make waves.

As good parents, we try to teach our kids not to bow to peer pressure just to be one of the cool kids. That takes a lot of strength, unfortunately not all people are strong enough.

That is where we are. We have bullies/narcissist or whatever term you care to use, in places of power. And they practically ruin or corrupt good people for their own agenda.

Kristie Crespo gets two awards.

Third place for talent innovator award
And the Harver LIFT award

Seriously? How much did Gainwell spend on buying those awards?

This place is amazing.

Unfortunately you have a lot of bullies at Gainwell. If you say something, they have to say something or attempt to correct you every chance possible in order to demonstrate their superiority.

And depending on who you are. dictates whether you can actually make a statement without a follow up or not. It has that feel of being owned versus being an employee trying to do their job.

A lot has to do with the 'Eat or be eaten' culture that has developed due to the lay-offs and re-orgs. That's okay, because evidently when I'm on Gainwell's time, I am owned and a piece of property to be railroaded for the amusement of others.

I won't mention a name, otherwise there's a chance this posted will be removed if I do. But the name/initials given in the previous post That individual is a frequent flyer and well known across multiple departments and not in a good way.

JR made a total a$$ out of himself (again) on the AWS Skill Builder meeting today. The presenter just let it roll off him and was a true professional.

Unfortunately that is the common behavior of JR. anyone that has been in a meeting with him. Knows that he is trying to over compensate for some other lacking

Bullying by Management is starting to be an issue here. Calling out people on Teams or Chimes call should be dealt with severely. If you can't conduct yourself as a professional its time for you to get a warehouse job. (Jake Rydel) - You had this coming.

Jesse Bradford. Another SVP just hired at Gainwell. Another useless leader. Yeah that will help.

this is the environment in which toxic people thrive. Any managers rising, getting a promotion, more than likely its because they are the ones willing to sell their own mother if that gives them an edge over others.

look for something else at a different company. Do not compromise your values just to survive. I have seen it many times, not just here, but at other companies. The juice is not worth the squeeze. Do not become like these people.

The end does not justify the means.

We all know the names, no need to repeat them here, they keep popping up in thread after thread. Just think this... when these D-bags finally kick the bucket... how many people will come to their funeral? not even the ones that are just like them, there is no honor among thieves.

if you are flirting with the idea of doing "whatever it takes" just to survive, you can still stop. Don't go there, its not worth it.

Take care people.
