Thread regarding 3M layoffs

Why has HR made it impossible to find new jobs within 3M?

Have you looked at Workday recently?

You can't search by job grade and you can't search by date posted.

So if you want a new job at 3M, you have to sift through literally every job, looking for anything that might be at your next job grade but also isn't months old at this point.

Zd, mm and cas are on the “retirement “ list for 2024. Cas may be earlier as she has been toxic ever since she joined it. There are regular lists being prepared for bench strength at the highest level as we shed some heavyweight duds.

set up a job alert by job profile and you'll get the list daily or one/week. Cumbersome to set up but easy once done.

HR is a function to legally protect the company and to promote their own. Just take a look at Di-kson, Lockett, strand, decosta, wellik, tack, etc. it’s the best place to be to do nothing and earn above 300k at the minimum. Happy Monday as they say…
At least Di-kson is on the way out

Sure you can't search by job grade or date...but you can browse by both "Location" and "Primary Location" as well as "Job Family" and "Job Category". What more would you want? :) Entertainingly, trying to browse by just "Location" gives no results if the job is classified as Hybrid (like for instance for 3M Center) whereas "Primary Location" works. It's like they tried to steal the format/code from 2 separate job posting systems and used them both...

There’s a search bar in the jobs section and if you enter the job grade into the search bar, I’ve found that works . More likely to be a Workday thing than an HR thing….

HR is not your friend. They are the henchmen for the CEO. Other than the guy under Sir George who was pretty good, the department is about making the CEO look good ny cutting jobs, pensions, benefits, etc.

In the 80s and 90s, HR was a great advocate and asset for employees. Mcnerney brought in the GE plague and it's never been the same.

It’s because most of their Workday people jumped ship. And HR is too busy prepping for the next round of layoffs. Why do ya think McKinsey is here muuuuhahahahaha.
